Sunflower (Small)

This pretty wallflower is made with a mixture of transparent and opaque petals - each of which has been individually cut to fit the design.  In the centre is a mixture of transparent, opaque and dichroic glass pieces which were made separately and then placed in the centre of the petals to create the 'seedhead'.  Once all the component pieces have been prepared, they are placed together in the kiln and fused until they are fully bonded, but still retain their individual shapes and textures.  On the reverse of the sunflower is a hanging mechanism which means you can fix it to a wall.  This lets some light come behind the glass, allowing you to enjoy this beautiful wallflower from all angles.
